About the Internship:
SAPHA is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as an Intern for a recently funded project on advancing racial equity through combating health misinformation in the South Asian American community. This part-time internship will tentatively be from January to March 2025 with an estimated 15 hours per week. The intern will receive a $3000 stipend for the duration of the internship (a minimum of 12 weeks must be completed to qualify for the stipend).
Intern Responsibilities:
The Intern will be responsible for assisting the SAPHA team with the following activities:
- Developing and administering surveys and focus groups targeted to the South Asian community, as well as help collect and analyze the data and findings
- Conducting literature reviews and help with writing with various tasks
- Scheduling and attending meetings with SAPHA team members and community members/leaders
Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program or be a recent graduate (one year or less) from a public health background or a related field
- Preferred experience working on public health related projects with a focus on health equity, community-based, and/or health communication, and interacting with the Asian American/South Asian community
- This is an US-based internship and candidates must be able to work in the US during the internship. The position will be virtual.
