Ami M. Shah, MPH, is a dedicated public health professional with extensive experience in addressing health disparities, integrating community health workers into care teams, and using data to inform health policies and initiatives. Her career has spanned roles in the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, and the Sinai Urban Health Institute, focusing on high-risk populations and health equity.

In January 2015, Ami joined the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services as a consultant to launch the Care Connections Program, which integrated Community Health Workers (CHW) into primary care practices to support high-risk patients. Earlier in her career, Ami spent nearly a decade as a social epidemiologist with the Sinai Urban Health Institute, focusing on health disparities. In 2002, she coordinated a major health survey in Chicago, revealing significant health inequities and leading to over $17 million in new health initiatives. Ami collaborated with community leaders and researchers to address health disparities and published several articles and a book on her findings. She holds degrees from the University of Chicago, Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and a Certificate in Gerontology from the University of Southern California.
